Is IPL Right For Me?

IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light, is an advanced cosmetic treatment that rejuvenates your skin’s healthy glow while protecting its surface. When applied to the face, IPL technology can significantly reduce red and brown pigmentation issues, enhance your look, and reverse some of the effects of weather damage. You’ll benefit from a variety of advantages, including the ability to address the following issues:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Blush of rosacea
  • Age spots
  • Sun-induced freckles
  • Benign brown pigment
  • Persistent red pigmentation
  • Red spots
  • Large blood vessels
  • Acne scars
  • Large pores

How Does IPL Photofacial Treatment Work?

The IPL photofacial treatment works by delivering a concentrated beam of light into the treatment area, targeting issues like brown spots, hyperpigmentation, and enlarged blood vessels. IPL photo facials can be customized using light wavelengths to align with your specific cosmetic goals, effectively addressing facial imperfections without causing damage or scarring. Additionally, IPL treatments stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, which helps tighten and tone nearby tissues.

By gently penetrating the topmost layers of your skin, the IPL photofacial treatment can effectively remove underlying hyperpigmentation and visible blood vessels that detract from your skin’s appearance. Unlike other treatments, such as chemical peels, that remove the outer layer of skin and require significant healing time, IPL does not damage the outer skin, resulting in a much shorter healing process. During your initial consultation, we’ll be happy to address any questions you may have about the procedure and how it works.

What Happens During the IPL Photofacial Treatment Process?

Depending on your treatment plan details, your IPL session will usually take about 15 to 20 minutes. A complete full-face treatment requires multiple sessions, and we’ll collaborate with you to develop a treatment schedule that fits your current commitments.

Once your treatment area is ready, your provider will move the laser in a grid-like pattern over your skin, flashing the light approximately every centimeter. Your provider may need to revisit the treatment area several times based on your specific needs.

Post-Treatment Care After IPL Session

After your IPL treatment session, your provider will cleanse your skin, and you may experience mild to moderate redness. You can apply makeup right away if you prefer. However, we advise avoiding direct sunlight for at least a week after your session and using sunscreen regularly.

Mild to moderate redness may persist for up to three days, and you might notice that the pigment in your targeted area darkens within 48 hours. This outer layer of skin will naturally exfoliate after a week, allowing you to enjoy the exciting results of your IPL photofacial.

Most clients experience immediate results, which will continue to improve over the next two weeks. While these results are temporary, they can last for months and even years after achieving your desired complexion. For the best results, we suggest at least two to three treatments spaced at least one month apart.
